Cheryl's Pick: "Verity" by Colleen Hoover

Verity was the first Colleen Hoover book I read and, I must say, I am a fan! It is one of the best books I have read in a while.

Lowen is an author struggling to write a book that will make her enough money to save her from certain financial ruin. Jeremy is the husband of Verity, a best-selling author who is unable to move or communicate. He hires Lowen to finish a series of books Verity is unable to complete. Jeremy and Verity are parents to a young son and also had twin girls who have passed away.

At the invitation of Jeremy, Lowen moves into the house to sort out the chaos of Verity’s office and to get a better understanding of how to best complete the book series. As Lowen is going through the office, she finds Verity’s unfinished autobiography and HAS to read it. And that is when things start getting strange.

Lowen thinks she sees and hears things that aren’t possible. Also, the autobiography has pages of admissions that no wife or mother should ever make and they send chills up Lowen’s spine. Does she tell Jeremy even though she is falling for him?

Verity is a gripping romantic thriller with an explosive ending and I had a difficult time putting it down. I loved it.
